Holiday dating

Dating around the holiday presents many issues. For instance, gifts…. How long have you been dating? how much to spend? If you want to break up with your significant other, when is too close to Christmas?

Fortunately, i listen to BBC radio 1. Scott Mills Answers the last question! They said today you shouldn’t break up with someone between December 9th and January 10th. Just don’t do it. This gives you a little time to think about it if you are going to do it before then, haha! The January cut off allows a little time to seem like you just wanted a gift before you broke up with the person.

I actually kind of agree with this because no one wants heartbreak around Christmas. Or to buy a gift for someone who doesn’t want to be with them. Its awkward to go to a family gathering and everyone asks where your significant other is and you have to tell them you broke up 3 days before Christmas.

 

As for gifts, I think if you have been dating less than a month at Christmas (we past this date yesterday) then no gift is required, but something small is appreciated. Get them their favorite candy! Or get creative with an experience you already had planned to do with them and make it their gift!

So I enjoy reading news stories, and this one caught my eye. “10 places to meet a man for the holidays”. Some i figured like the gym and holiday parties, but some were more interesting…

-THE APPLE STORE is apparently a good place to meet someone. I mean, from experience, there can be tension in a relationship based on if you are android or apple. I have before said to a guy, ” i like that you have an iphone” and i was dead serious. 

-apparently i need to hit up the supermarket more too? Strangely enough i seem to get hit on there a lot. The meat section seems to be a favorite for guys to try to strike up conversation with me? ODD. LOL

-The home improvement store? I don’t own a home…this wont work for me. 

-political fundraiser, i guess if you are into politics. I am not. At all. I actually avoid them as much as possible. Is there a fundraiser for those NOT involved in politics? 

-facebook? BLAH i dont ” friend” people i dont know on it. 

-volunteer project, this is a great idea and i hope people find others who enjoy giving back. The charities i support, its not really going to work. 

-the train (not the bus)- umm i live in Ohio. We don’t have much public transportation here. those who ride the bus are….ODD! haha

-online dating sites, thanks for the obvious msn/essence!

The slut factor

Lets talk about your “number” here a moment.

While in college, a guy was trying to sleep with me (we were already in bed, talking and watching a movie), he then told me how many girls he had slept with. We were 18 and he had slept with 37 girls…. immediate turn off for me! YUCK! I think i had been with 2 guys at the time. Needless to say, that didn’t win any points with me. As it may be a badge of honor with your friends, it wasn’t with me! I think most girls would say the same. 

About a year or two ago, I went on a first date with a law student. It went really well, I forget how we got on the topic, but i told him the above story. He didn’t say anything at the time, but after the date texted me to tell me he had been with 48 girls. 48?!! I asked if he even remembered all those girls. He said they were “each special” to him….DOUBTFUL! He later said i was overbearing because i texted him in the morning (he texted me back) and then once around 9pm in the same day. He said more than about 2 text messages a week was too much. YEA, i ran, fast. 

So i have thought about what is considered acceptable for your number. Everyone kept saying, “it depends on your age”. So friends and i came up with the age rule! If you have slept with more people than years you are old, you meet the SLUT factor. Man or woman, its crossing a line. Agree? Disagree?

p.s. i had a quite good first date last night!

Sometimes my friends give the best material! I have a friend attempting online dating as well. She liked this guy and was in the first few days of talking to him. They had started to text instead of messaging online. She thought he seemed interesting, intelligent and fun. As they were talking about something completely unrelated, BAM!! DICK PIC!!!

She was flabberghasted, as i would be!

I dont know ANY girls who find the appearance of a penis incredibly attractive….i am sure those girls are out there, but… Well no, i actually am not sure. Hahaha

And NO, he did not get a date with her.

Another friend went for an “audition” to become a relaxation massage therapist. She had to give a massage to the person interviewing her. When she was finished, he promptly removed his pants. She told him “no! ” And “put your pants on!” And he laughed and said he thought she was interested….

When is it acceptable to take your pants off in a job interview? The answer my friends, is NEVER!

Pissy guys?

So sometimes i run into guys online who are very demanding. They get upset when i dont text them within a few minutes… Or when i dont really want to talk on the phone with them! I have loads to do and i can text while i do other things, but to talk on the phone requires all of my attention, i know thats exactly the reason they want to do it, but i’d just rather not. No one really likes the nastyness that gets on your touch screen after you talk on the phone, admit it!

Recently, i had a guy who would only try to make plans last minute and then be all upset that i was busy. He would say “i dont know why i am even trying with you, you are obviously too busy for me”. (ee talked less than a week and he asked me out last minute twice and i had plans) Do i have more testosterone than this guy?!?!???

Yesterday, i had a guy who we barely said a few sentances to each other, i found out he actually lives in texas so i stopped being interested. Long distance is too hard! He then wanted to skype, and wouldnt take no for an answer! Then he said “my heart is breaking” ummmm k!

This article had me laughing because i have quite a few friends that this is 100% true with! hahaha Catching up on paperwork…. THATS BAD! really, really bad. I always find these kinds of studies interesting, but i take them with a grain of salt. What was the exact question they were asked (how was it worded)? Who was polled? 65 year old women or 18 year old college girls? single or taken? All from new york city or all over the country? I just take them with a knowledge of how skewed statistics can be!

Motivation

Lets talk why you are on a dating site! Are you looking for a friend? Romance? Someone to date? It might just be me, but there should be a site for people only looking for hookups….OR call me old fashioned, go find someone drunk at the bar too hook up with! Some of us are making real efforts to find someone interesting to meet and see where it goes!

Isnt there a site for the crazy nyphos out there? Or the odd couple who contacted me about having a threesome with them?!? To each their own, but i feel like a dating website isn’t the time and place for that!

So a little while back i got a message on a dating website from a guy living in india. He said “hello, i have allready met you, married you and divorced you in my mind. It was a wonderful ride, thank you”

Umm…. I have no words for that! Lol

I also once got a message saying “you look like a fat chick who loves cupcakes”

Cupcakes are dry! Cake is better. He must have been reported or deleted his account before i could rip him a new asshole! Dang! (I do wonder if he was really a bored 12 year old catfishing and generally being mean to people?)
