Cuddling

Standard

Okay, some of my closest friends know this about me, but now you will know too.

I

HATE

THE WORD

CUDDLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing personal, well, yes it is.

My issue with the word is how it is used nowadays. In my experience, guys and girls do not have the same definition of this work. Girls think something like “laying on the couch or a bed with another person, embracing closely, maybe talking (but not necessary) and enjoying each others company”. Guys think “laying on the couch or a bed with another person, embracing closely, maybe talking (but not necessary) and enjoying each others company. In an attempt to get this person to have sex with me right after”. I know not every guy thinks this, don’t get me wrong. When a guy asks you to come over and cuddle at their house and you have never met this person before, do they really have anything else on their mind? Call me crazy, but that’s not okay with me. It miiiiiight just be me, but i would consider even the female definition of cuddling as something intimate. Its a great thing when you are comfortable with the person, but extremely awkward and uncomfortable when you are not.

Yet, i am one of those people who don’t like to be touched, unless i am very close to the person doing the touching.

I have literally had guys ask me, not out for a date, just to come over and cuddle. REALLY? I don’t want to have you cut out my kidney and sell it on the black market, but thanks though.

Another thing that bothers me about the word is when guys say it especially. One of the reason i like guys is because they are manly. To me, saying that they want to cuddle, is not manly whatsoever! It makes them sound like a pussy. Its not the act itself really, its the word. If a boyfriend hugged me and said “i just want to hold you” that seems different somehow.

This guy, can suck it!
