Random Dating thoughts

So I met a new friend this weekend and i got to talk to her about our struggles to find men. Real men! She said whats in the dating pool are leftovers. I have to slightly agree and disagree. hahah I do believe there are good guys out there!

Okay, so maybe not that guy…. But you should read it for some laughs.

Anyways, she told me that she went on first dates where the guy stuck her with the check! So she paid her half and left! AMEN girl!

So a date I had about a month ago…. He changed the oil in my car for free, which was awesome. (I brought him Jack and coke to repay that). Then he took me to a concert the next night. I thought he seemed a bit young and immature. He was just obviously a bit wild. So we are at the concert, and a lady taps him on the shoulder. It was HIS MOM. HAHA at the concert!! lol Awkwarddddd. Its okay though, he supposedly didn’t know she was going to the same concert. So then part of the way through the concert, he put his thumbs through my belt loops….We were dancing and all but it was a bit awkward. OHHHH, i forgot, he never offered to buy any of my drinks for the night… i can totally understand if he doesn’t want to pay for all of the overpriced beer that night, but to not offer for even the first round? Am i crazy on this?

I was reading this article today… I don’t agree with all of them, but

#7-“The only difference between your actions being romantic and creepy is how attractive the other person finds you. That’s it, that’s all.”

OMG!!! SO TRUE! hahaha

8. “Let’s chill” & “Wanna hang out?” are vague phrases that likely mean “let’s hookup” — and while you probably hate receiving them, they’re the common way to invite someone to spend time these days, and appear to be here to stay.

YUP< i have heard this too many times. Add “Wanna come cuddle?” to that list.

9. “Some people just want to hookup and if you’re seeking more than sex, they won’t tell you that they’re the wrong person for you. At least, not untilafter they score your prize. While human decency is ideal, honesty isn’t mandatory.”

Honesty is a big deal with me, i wish more people thought the same… 😦

10. “The text message you sent went through. If they didn’t respond, it wasn’t because of malfunctioning phone carrier services.”

I always say, you are not too busy to send a text, it takes about 30 seconds to send me a message. Don’t have 30 seconds? I don’t know ANYONE THAT busy.

16. ” When dating, instead of expressing how they feel directly to you, a person is more likely to post a Facebook status or Instagram a Tumblr-esque photo of a sunset with a quote or song lyric of someone else’s words on it, and while it may not mention your name, it’s blatantly directed at you.”

HAHA we girls do this… lol

18. “If you get dumped, it’s probably going to be pretty brutal. People can cut ties over the phone and avoid seeing the tears stream down your face or end things via text and avoid hearing the pain in your cracking voice and sniffling nose. Send a lengthy text and voilà, relationship over. The easy way out is far from the most considerate.”

Been there. It was awful to be dumped in a text. AWFUL

Happy Monday Y’all!

Painting with wine date…

Standard

So about a week or maybe two ago (i am trying to forget), i went on a date from tinder. We didn’t talk a lot before he asked me to go out with him because he had a Groupon to the pARTy studio. I was seriously impressed that he actually planned a real date. Something interesting, fun and creative. I got there first and had to wait on him (pet peeve). He baked a brie pie and brought a bottle of red wine. IMPRESSED! The brie was delish, but our conversation while painting was minimal and boring. It was easy to tell we didn’t really have chemistry, it was more like an interview or a business relationship, even though i felt like i should flirt. I was also annoyed by what he painted, he went crazy and painted a head? I know this is creative for some of my friends, but i am very type A and this bothers me. We are at a painting studio to paint the picture they are instructing us on, right? I mean, i have everything at home to paint whatever i want….but that’s just me. We have discussed this before, for some reason i am not into artsy types. I would rather have a strong silent type that isn’t very creative. Oh well.

Here is our art! I blurred his face because he is a really nice guy, not a jerk! He just isn’t the right guy for me. Excuse me being a tool.

1st of all, would you really put that photo on your dating profile? UMM no. Also… being so negative to say “if you like ___, then i probably dont like you” isn’t probably the best bet to find someone. JUST a guess…

On another note, i went to high school and college with him, he was a HUGE A hole to me and other people i know….Saw him at a concert a couple months ago, he was using his career as a pharmacist to try to hit on girls. He tried on my friend…i cock blocked him so fast. We then watched him try it on other girls. It didn’t work. Word of the wise, lead with your true charm, not your job. You might loose  your job, but some day that girl has to actually enjoy your personality. OR maybe she doesn’t-but those are called mail-order brides. LOL

Pof vs. Tinder vs. Match.com vs. okcupid

Standard

Okay, here’s the review! I can only bring you a review of the sites i have used. So sorry chemistry.com…. lol

Plenty of fish.com- ( free)This site i started using at age 18, and have basically used it since. Its honestly where i have had the most luck. I have found a few boyfriends that i have dated for 8 months -1 year on this site. Its basically traditional dating website style. They also have a “match” feature that’s similar to tinder. Lately however, i haven’t had much luck on the site. It seems like less and less guys are using it? Or i am just not as interesting? hahah

Match.com-(this costs money, not friggen cheap, either)- Honestly…. I got very few if any messages on this site. I sent out over 5 a month as per the guarantee. It doesn’t seem like anyone is still a member!!! At least in my age group. I have talked with a few friends who had similar problems. I find it hard to believe that my pof profile gets around 10-15 messages a week and my match got 1-5 over a 6 month period! I call this a serious waste of money. LAME! (Side note- TWO of my very good friends found guys on here…. They have been together for 4 years each) The reason i wonder if anyone is still on…. I saw my friends boyfriends non-updated profile on my search 4 years later. Old photos. Old info. match keeps their old members up there even when they have canceled service! LAME!!!!

Tinder-( free)- I believe this is an app only. This is the latest trend in online dating it seems. At least to me. Its designed so you see a photo of someone and you can make a snap decision on whether to like or dislike them. You can also click on that photo and see a few more and a small description. The photos have to be from Facebook and it also shows you how many interests and friends you have in common off of Facebook. YES, it is very superficial. YES many guys think this is a hookup site and girls see it as a fun new dating site. Also, my guy friend says many porn girls contact him on there for…less than honest intentions. Whats funny is that i have met a country singer, professional baseball players, professional soccer players… Some guys seem to be saying the same things… KCCO is their favorite. Shout out to the Chive.com! lol I also see quite a few guys state that they are alpha males, is that a new trend? Anyways, only if you hit like AND they like your profile as well that you can chat with each other. I like this feature because you don’t have to ignore someone you aren’t interested in. Also, beware if you are a traveler! Tinder is messed up! If you go on vacation, it will update the closeness to you, but then when you go home, you still get guys from where ever you were. I am getting matched with guys in Texas, when i live in Ohio…..GREAT!  Hookup app or not, its defiantly addicting.

Okcupid-(free)- This site uses a combination of a profile and really odd questions to give you three matching percentages with a person. The first is like the person, friend the person and enemy the person. The enemy people talk to me the most it seems. Its all about your opinion on things. I guess that can help relationships, some people like others who challenge them though. I get about the same amount of weirdos as i did on other sites. That being said, this is one of my friend’s favorite sites to meet someone off of. Its just not mine! haha

PICK YOUR POISON! hahah
